History

Since XV century, the Puig-Parahÿ family has cultivated land around Passa, located 25 km south west of Perpignan in the heart of French Catalonia. Under their house, built in 1755, lie cellars containing the oldest collection of Vin Doux Naturel (vintage sweet wine) in the world; small barrels marked 1940, 1910, 1898, 1875…!  

自十五世紀,Puig-Parahÿ 酒莊已在位於距離Perpignan25公里Passa從事種植釀制葡萄酒。世界上最老的甜酒1940191018981875…還保存在建於1755年的家中地窖內。

The family had been utterly un-commercial until recently! The unique collection of Vin Doux Naturel was almost completely unknown. Now, a range of wines is reaching a wide audience.

Terrior

Today, 110 hectares of vineyard and a collection of old sweet wine spread in three fields;  Le Fort Saint Pierre, Sant Lluc des Puig Rudun and Le Mas de Miserys.

There is almost nothing done to the wine, nothing added, nothing taken. The result is a totally natural expression of simply great quality fruit. Since 2001, the owner has been practicing organic viticulture. The terroir is certified by ECOCERT.

The Soil

of the Le Fort Saint Pierre are calcium clay soil, planted with Mourvèdre, Alicante and Grenaches at the end of the XIX century, replanted after 1940 in Carignan and black Grenache for the red wine and the white,  grey Grenaches and Muscat d’Alexandrie for the white wine, either dry or sweet. In 1970, the Macabeu and Syrah were planted. The soils of Sant Lluc are calcium clay stone soil with the same type of vines. Le Fort Saint Pierre 是一鈣土葡萄園, 葡萄包括MourvèdreAlicanteGrenaches1940年開始植紅葡萄Carignanblack Grenache及白葡萄Grey GrenachesMuscat d’Alexandrie1970年開始MacabeuSyrahMuscat à PetitSant Lluc是一石粘土葡萄植同類葡萄。

Le Mas de Miserys is on a solid grey schists soil. The Grenaches are planted in small pieces of lands. The production was in average of 40 Hl/Ha in the years 1980 and up to present is 25 Hl/Ha due to the aging of the vines of which some were replanted after Phylloxéra in 1878.

Le Mas de Miserys 是一灰色固體岩葡萄,主要Grenaches。由於部份葡萄樹於1878植 ,開始老化,生產量由40Hl/Ha降至25 Hl/Ha

Types of Wine

The grapes are harvested by hands and the wine makings, carried out in old cement tanks (some are XIX century), are made in the traditional long fermentation to ensure a maximum of extraction. These three vineyards produce dry wines and sweet wines, also the vintage white and red wines.

葡萄以人手收搳後,放在舊水泥桶(有些是19世紀),釀制過程採用傳統的長時間發酵方法 ,以確保最高的品質。

Collection of Rancio

One of the family traditions is to preserve one barrel of sweet wine for the birth of each child and also for important events like marriages or excellent harvests. The accumulation of the barrels and the tanks,  marked 1940, 1910, 1898, 1875…,  have given birth to a true collection which makes the fame of the field today.

當孩子生、結婚或豐收,家族的統是保存一桶甜葡萄酒; 1940,1910, 1898, 1875…經歷數百年,已成收藏品,盛名。
